I came here for dinner recently and had a very enjoyable experience. The server/cook was friendly and showed me what the skewers actually look like (perhaps due to my limited Persian cuisine experience). Everything tasted really good - Koobideh and Joojeh are definitely worth trying.

Mmm...Persian street food. One thing I love about living near Whyte Ave is the sheer amount of diverse cuisine you can find within a few blocks. If you like kebabs then you'll enjoy Pom. High quality kebabs, made to order over charcoal. We ordered the lamb and the chicken kebab, which comes with saffron rice and a roasted tomato. Delicious! Meat was nicely marinated with a wonderful charcoal flavour. We also ordered the flat bread with shallot dip (we used this for everything). To finish our meal, we ordered the saffron and pistachio ice cream. Really unique flavour...kind of sweet and salty, with subtle saffron floral notes. Not cheap (our kebab plate was $18), but their meat is high quality (beef is AAA Angus).

I heard about this place from my friend and went there the next day.
The food was amazing.
We tried their POM kabab and chicken kabab and koobideh kabab.
All of them were very high quality and very tasty.
My most favourite was Pom kabab which is pretty hard to make. It's known as "kabab torsh" in Iran and it can easily turn black and dry which has been mostly the experience I had before. But Pom kabab is juicy and the right colour and you can taste everything they used to marinate the meat. It's really delicious.
For the chicken, they not only use chicken breast but also they offer chicken leg. I picked chicken leg and I'm glad I did. Most chicken kababs get dry as well but here you experience a juicy tasty chicken kabab which is very hard to find outside of Iran.
The "koobideh" was really good and high quality too.
They make their own bread and I can tell you: it's f@$&ing awesome. It's even better than most breads in Iran.
And the rice which is the base of most Iranian dishes, was cooked awesome and very good.
I felt I'm in Iran and having a high quality homemade food or a very high end restaurant.
Overall the experience was amazing and I'll definitely go back there a lot.
Beside the food, you will see a very warm, kind, polite and helpful staff and they are try to make the experience better for you.
I'm glad they present Iranian culture very well.
Also their bathroom was very funny and a must to see!
There are a couple of issues with the place:
1- it's small and I think they can have about 12 customers
This can become an issue in a long run because the quality of the food is really good and eventually it will get busier and if they can't serve the customers who want to eat there, they may loose opportunities.
I hope they have a serious plan in place to do something about this issue.
2- they serve their food in plastic containers even if it's not a take out order.
For a good quality place that is not the best strategy.
It's not environmentally good and also it's not easy to eat from a plastic container.
I would rather see cheap Ikea plates rather than plastic containers.
I hope they fix that issue too.
I highly recommend this place and I think it's one of the best places outside of Iran for Iranian food. -

BEST kababs. Charcoal-roased and delicious. Side dishes are just okay -- not a great place for vegetarians.

I want to start off by saying that their kebabs or cooked over a wooden charcoal grill and are marinated to the point that they become an artform!
The kebabs melts in your mouth, the races OK, the salad Shirazi and cucumber yogurt was phenomenal. It is a very small establishment so don't go there expecting to eat in if there's more than two customers already there. Overall it was some of the best kebab I've ever had and I would recommend it to anyone but I would ensure that there's a table for you before planning to eat there. Nice guys working friendly staff, need to see if they have Persian tea but otherwise a solid solid choice!
